Nitrix Oxide
Selected Performer
San Francisco, CA
Comes from Nitrous Oxide, or Laughing Gas. Funny, intoxicating, yet twisted.
Two years ago, I moved to San Francisco and fell headfirst into the drag scene. I started as a club kid with bizarre headpieces and questionable makeup, heading to Mother at Oasis on Saturdays and Big Top Sundays at Beaux in the Castro. Then about a year ago, I started performing in my first talent show and a clown was born!
I perform all over the San Francisco and Oakland drag communities. This year I started my own show, Killer Queen, a punk/alternative drag party that runs every third Tuesday at the Elbo Room Jack London in Oakland, and every fourth Saturday at Ginger’s in San Francisco. I am also the host of Zodiac, a weekly viewing party of The Boulet Brother’s Dragula followed by floorshow featuring local drag performers and guests from Dragula.
While I would describe myself as more a club kid than a drag queen, it’s all drag in the end. Artwork and pop culture references inspire my looks, but I lean more towards the quirky and darker side of drag. I draw my references from Leigh Bowery, Divine, Peaches Christ, The Boulet Brothers, and Keith Haring. In summary, I’m a pyscho-comedy queen, spooky and campy with a sharp tongue and quick wit.
